Welcome to First UMC

At Fargo First United Methodist Church we believe every single person matters, period. You are welcome here.

The greatest commandment, Jesus' words to "Love God & Love Others" is central to who we are.

Matthew 22:36-40 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the

greatest and first commandment.  And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

We want to make sure when you visit you are comfortable and that is all that matters to us. As long you are come through our doors, we want to make sure you feel loved and welcomed. If you ever need anything, always feel free to connect with us. We love to hear from our new visitors.

OUR VALUES

Love God & Love Others

We are Christ-centered

We believe that Jesus extends grace to everyone and that we should follow in his steps. We preach and teach about Jesus: his life, death and resurrection. We teach what it means to follow in Jesus' footsteps and how to walk, talk and behave like Christ in our everyday lives.  Jesus Christ is at the heart of what we do.

We worship hard and pray harder

We believe that Jesus is central to everything.  We understand that people approach God in a multitude of ways, so our worship is diverse in music, traditions and experiences.  We believe that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should begin everything with prayer, a conversation of talking and listening.  Prayer is the foundation of our lives.

We believe in caring for one another

We demonstrate Christ's love by what we say and what we do.  We are called to care for one another, to offer grace, hope and peace.  We see it in the ways we welcome, offer hospitality and love for others.

We are a church without walls

Jesus called us to go out and spread the word of God. We live out this amazing faith through the ways we serve and work in our community, nation and world around us.  Join us in service to others.
